Episode 51: Nearpod

Published on March 7, 2013 by      Print

Nearpod is a free app that allows you to share a presentation in real time on student devices. When you swipe to to the next slide, student devices automatically switch to the next slide. Use Nearpod to collect student data–students can draw over an image, answer multiple choice questions, or answer free response questions. You can easily upload existing presentations by exporting to PDF, and importing to Nearpod. The best part of this is that you can present to people from anywhere–as long as you are all online, they see your presentation in real time.

Thanks for another great tip. I am anticipating a 1 to 1 in the near future and I am trying to learn about these tools from people in the know! Seems like a great tool.

Nearpod is a game changer. It’s the only app I’ve used on my iPad where I thought, “Wow, I can really teach differently now.”

        Hi Bill,
How did you do the presentation. I see Screenflow, but how to you have both the iphone and ipad on the computer screen while you present?

I use Reflector to get my iPad screen on my laptop. It’s perfect for sharing my iOS screen during Google Hangouts, too! http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/
